Beauty: St Tropez Spray Tan

I am no stranger to fake tanning products but as it has been a while, I thought I would share my experience and some useful tips:

  • Firstly, do your research.  Make sure you are going to be 100% happy with the product used and find out where friends or work colleagues visit.

I chose Revive, Handbridge, Chester (http://www.revivehandbridge.co.uk/) who offer the St Tropez Spray Tan treatment.

  • On booking your appointment, you should be advised as to how to prep your skin the day before - most importantly to exfoliate.

This should also include any shaving or waxing.

  • On the day of your appointment, do not moisturise or use deodorant and wear loose clothing.

I wore a grey t-shirt with black leggings and sandals.  It is also advisable to not wear a bra and if provided with disposable knickers, keep them on.

  • Cream should be applied to feet, knees elbows and hands prior to your treatment.  (This should help prevent dark patches).  It is important to let your therapist know if you have any other areas of dry skin so that this can be treated in the same way.

  • Your therapist should guide you through positioning.

  • The treatment should take no more than 15 minutes and the tan is quick drying.

  • It is important to scrub the palms of your hands and wipe around your feet after your tan has dried.

  • You will start to feel dirty but try to leave your tan as long as possible.

  • Before I went to bed, I moisturised all over.

  • Don’t change your bed sheets until after your first shower!

  • On showering, gently exfoliate and use your products as normal then pat yourself dry and moisturise.

  • And finally, try to exfoliate and moisturise everyday to prolong your tan.
